Account Manager

Position responsibilities: 

  • In concert with Account Executive (AE), manage activities related to our clients’ convention program.
  • Develop a strong understanding of clients’ workflow procedures, exhibit practices and expectations for deliverables.
  • Initiate/prepare production orders, estimates and associated correspondence as required.
  • Monitor the production process, including communication to the logistics team, to ensure that all project objectives are accomplished and are on time.
  • Responsible for reviewing all change order items to ensure all costs are accounted for and that they fall within the given project time constraints and project budget, including managing any service agreement requirements.
  • Assist in preparation of proposals from cost estimates for construction projects or services requested.
  • Assist in closing out jobs and process-related expense reports (assigning costs to assigned work orders).
  • Attend all team meetings & all production meetings between sales staff & shop supervision.
  • Maintain an accurate and accountable job file on all project activities which includes effective use of Excel spreadsheets, databases and word processing.
  • Will be trained on internal systems used to initiate new jobs, task internal departments and preparation of invoices.
  • Gather information for AE on delinquent account matters and follow up as directed.
  • Represent the company and its products and service professionals in a manner consistent with the current marketing direction.
  • Travel to assigned client shows/events as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required.
  • Associate’s degree and 3- 5 years of strong account management experience are good to have.
  • Tradeshow / Event industry/Exhibition experience and knowledge is preferred
  • Highly organized, flexible and able to work necessary hours in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Strong customer service & conflict resolution skills combined with an ability to multi-task is necessary
  • Advanced in Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills required

OPERATIONS MANAGER / PROJECT MANAGER

SWX Global Design & Production (formerly Southwest Displays & Events) has been creating compelling customer experiences for corporations worldwide for over 34 years. We design, fabricate and manage environments for trade show exhibits, permanent environments and events. We now have an immediate need for an experienced Operations Manager / Project Manager. This position is responsible for the management and coordination of fabrication, installation and servicing of displays and exhibits while addressing schedule, cost and quality objectives. This position is also responsible for developing fabrication estimates for new exhibits, change orders and refurbishment work.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Function as the manager of all assigned projects.
  • Initiate work and provide information/direction by writing and distributing shop orders.
  • Review and approve construction drawings.
  • Work with Account Executives and the team to manage project scope and assist with change order processing when required.
  • Develop fabrication estimates for the build of new exhibits, change orders and refurbishment work.
  • Work with purchasing to specify and requisition materials and services required for assigned projects.
  • Actively manage projects to support cost/budget control – work with accounting/contract administration to request and review project cost reports.
  • Schedule and conduct project review meetings as needed to ensure successful project completion – including turnover meetings prior to shipping.
  • Advise management of any concerns regarding timely delivery, quality or budget issues and assist with developing possible solutions.
  • Advise Account Executives of late client approvals or submissions that threaten to increase cost or result in premium charges.
  • Must have a good understanding of basic electrical requirements & woodworking techniques.
  • Ability to read & accurately interpret sketches and blueprints; including design, construction, architectural, & sub-contractor drawings.
  • Possess an understanding of the construction industry & respective pricing tools to prepare estimates for tradeshow booths, selling environments, permanent installations, & large integrated programs.
  • Ability to travel to show-site to oversee installation and dismantle efforts, when / if needed

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • CAD / CNC experience is a requirement.
  • Industry experience is a plus.
  • Project management experience in the construction business.
  • Highly organized, flexible and able to work necessary hours in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment; ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills – capable of working with diverse personalities under significant time constraints.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good working knowledge of contract procedures and required documentation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Project.
  • Excellent analytical and accurate math skills.

PROJECT MANAGER

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Determine the need/scope for detail drawings and/or set-up drawings and initiate all work with the carpenters as needed.
  • Plan and lead Put-To-Work meetings.
  • Assign labor and material by department codes to all quoted and T&M work orders.
  • Review the estimate for general agreement with completeness, hours, materials and subcontract dollars.
  • Review work orders for all assigned production, graphics, drawings and warehouse tasks for projects you are managing.
  • Write purchase order requisitions for direct purchase materials.
  • Review and approve construction drawings.
  • Develop fabrication estimates for build of new exhibits, change orders and refurbishment work.
